FREMONT, Calif., Nov. 25, 2013 – Innovate North State has announced the finalists for the coveted Innovation Awards and Milestone Technologies (Milestone) CEO and Founder Prem Chand and his company are nominated in two separate categories: Chand is a finalist for Executive of the Year and Milestone is a finalist for Business Expansion of the Year.
“We’re very proud to be considered a finalist in both categories,” said Chand. “Milestone’s new contact center in Chico demonstrates our commitment to the community and our belief that there is no shortage of talented people who will help our business grow.” The nominations honor those who, through their outstanding achievements, have transformed their businesses and been instrumental in creating the future of the regional economy, according to Innovate North State.
Chand’s strong leadership has already merited attention from Innovate North State. Last year, he was awarded the Innovation Award for Entrepreneur of the Year, which recognizes a demonstrated commitment and dedication to innovation and technology development of emerging growth companies that have national and global market significance.
The nomination for Business Expansion of the Year is in recognition of Milestone’s opening of a customer contact center in Chico that employs nearly 500 workers. Since September, the company has embarked on an aggressive expansion plan that has placed Milestone among the top three private employers in Chico.
In addition, Milestone is sponsoring the award for Innovative Public Private Partnerships this year. The Innovation Awards, which recognize leaders and businesses from Davis to the Oregon border, will celebrate with the theme a salute to game changing innovation. The winners will be announced on Dec. 3 at the 29th annual Innovation Awards dinner held at CSU Chico’s Bell Memorial Union.
